He landscapes dirt roads

The last couple of weeks have really sucked to say the least. Lost opportunities and wasted time, two deaths in the family and car trouble. Let’s just say that the old adage “When it rains it pours” has surely come true for me lately.

Since it is the weekend, I thought rather than post about immigration or law enforcement issues, I would just share an experience.

I decided today to just take a drive. I am blessed to live in the heart of Texas so finding a lone road to just drift down is really not that difficult so I took the very first one that presented itself. I just wanted to get away, to feel the wind and sun on my face and to see if maybe, just maybe I could make sense of the last few weeks.

I am not so sure I did that yet, but I did realize something, or at least I re-discovered something. God is in control. I don’t get how He works nor do I understand His time-frames, but He is definitely in control.

See, I figure God has been pretty busy figuring stuff out all over. He has the whole Ukraine thing, the U.S. Border thing, the abortion issue stuff and then there is just the regular everyday stuff like keeping us all breathing, keeping the planets in line, holding back the oceans…you know, regular God stuff.

With all that work on His plate, he still finds time to landscape. And He is pretty good at it. I think it shows he cares even about the little stuff. He cares about even the dirt roads.

So I drove, and I thought about it all. If you are like me and have been feeling like an old dirt road, then maybe you should take a drive too.

Matthew 6:26 says “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”

On my drive, I realized that He takes special care to landscape the dirt roads. I never see Him do it, but it is done. Here is what I saw today. Think about it.
